NP Krka

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Šibenik hinterland on the pleasant coach drive to the Roški Waterfall, one of the seven travertine barriers on the Krka River, a true karst beauty. Get to know all the interesting details on the area while driving through the Čikola River canyon, making a short break for a breathtaking view of the Visovac Lake and the Franciscan Monastery, a valuable cultural and historical monument situated on a small island in the middle of the lake itself. The Roški Waterfall (in Croatian Roški slap) is exceptionally interesting due to its cascades called ''the Necklaces'' by the locals. Restored watermills also attract many visitors and have their own story to tell. After sightseeing of the Roški Waterfall, a guide will take you to see another natural phenomenon of the Krka River - the longest of its waterfalls called the Skradin Waterfall (in Croatian Skradinski buk). This waterfall, cascading over 17 travertine barriers, gives you the chance to enjoy the permanent play of sun and water creating a breathtaking scenery. Make sure to bring your swimsuits because swimming is allowed here. The story of the first hydropower plant in Europe and a visit to the watermills dating from the 19th century will show you how important the Krka River was to the inhabitants of the area.
