Pilot:
Compulsory for vessels over 500 GT, even for vessels staying at anchorage. Available on 24 hours a day basis. Calling VHF ch. 16 (working VHF ch. 12) one hour prior to ship’s ETA. Boarding point 42° 40’ N / 18° 02’ E, approximately in a triangle formed by Kolocep island, Daksa island and Grebeni rocks. Estimated time for docking from pilot on board is 25 minutes. Charged on vessel’s GT basis. OT: 22-06 Mon-Fri +50%, Sat/Sun +50%, Hol +100%.
Mooring:
The harbour is protected from all winds except westerly, which raise waves and cause a swell to creep in. The impact is felt at the harbour entrance and in the area around Kantafig point (at the mouth of Rijeka Dubrovacka).
Wharfage:
1.940 m with 9 berths, berths No. 8-16. Depths alongside: No. 8 - 6,00 m, No.9 - 6,50 m, No. 10/13 –7 m, No. 14/15 – 7,50 m, No. 16 – 10,50 m. Length of the berths from 90 – 200 m. Height of the quay above MWL 1,50 m. The max. difference between low and high tide is 0,50 m. Rubber/wooden fenders available. Dimensions: 1 x 1 x 0.8 m.
One fender and one bollard every 20 m. Both sides to pier.
Anchorage off Gruz harbour:
In about 22 fathoms in channel between Daksa island and mainland. Depth in approaches 38 m. Exposed to strong NNE winds in Winter. Half mile to the landing area at berth No. 16/17. Flat-topped pontoons NA. Landing can be made by ship’s launches, two or three tenders ashore at same time, no levy payable. Local launches available.
Anchorage off Old Dubrovnik town:
42° 38 4’ N / 18° 08’ E. Pilot pick up 42° 37 3’ N/18° 08 5' E. Safe and deep anchorage for all size cruisers. In the channel between the Lokrum island and mainland. Diameter 1 mile. Min depth in approaches 40m. Exposed to SSE winds in Autumn and Wintertime. Approximately 1NM to the landing pier in the Old Port. The stony landing stage is in good condition, approx. 250 square meters, height of the quay above the MWL 1,50 m. Safe for night use. No levy payable for ship’s tenders. One or two can go alongside at any time. Estimated time for tender docking is 12 minutes. Restriction: Tenders to reduce speed to 4 knots as approaching Old Port.
